Silvia (Salas) Garcia

HOUSTON - Mrs. Silvia Salas Garcia passed from this life Saturday morning, March 16, 2024, in League City.

Born December 1, 1955, in Algoa, Mrs. Garcia had been a lifelong area resident and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. A passionate fan of the Houston Astros, she loved to coach them from afar. She found relaxation and excitement in the game of bingo as well. Whether it was the thrill of shouting "bingo” or the anticipation of the next number called, she cherished the time spent in the company of friends, sharing laughter, and making memories. Above all, Silvia treasured the moments spent with her beloved grandkids. She was a source of unconditional love, wisdom, and joy, creating cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederico and Maria (Marroquin) Salas; husband, Rodrigo J. Garcia; brothers, Raymond Salas, Rudy Salas, Bobby Salas, Jose Salas; sister-in-law, Linda Salas.

Survivors include her daughters, Hope Morales and husband, Richard, Alma McBride and husband, Ben; grandchildren, Alexzander Morales, Nicholas Morales, Noah Morales, Olivia McBride, Lucas McBride; brothers, Johnny Salas and wife, Gina, Carlos Salas and wife, Diane, Eddie Salas, Rubin Salas, Armando Salas, Raul Salas; sisters, Estella Salas, Irma Winston; sister-in-law, Maria Salas.   

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. March 22, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Deacon Michael Carr officiating. 

Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Silvia’s name to the American Diabetes Association, Post Office Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312.
