SANTA FE - Mr. Claude Elijah “J. R.” Clark, Jr., passed from this life Thursday, September 6, 2007, in Webster.
Born April 9, 1946 in Bonham, TX, Mr. Clark had been a lifelong resident of the Santa Fe area. He was the owner and operator of J.R.’s Air Conditioning and Repair for over 30 years. J. R. was a good cook and was always there to help someone in need. He especially loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Edward Clark; grandson, Cody Clark; parents, Claude E. Clark, Sr. and Flora (Phelps) Clark; brother, Leslie Clark; twin sisters, Eulah and Beulah Clark.
Survivors include his son, Claude E. Clark, III of Santa Fe; daughters, Brenda Johnston and husband, James of Texas City, Shiela Pennington and husband, Johnny of Alvin; 5 grandchildren; brothers, Charles Michael Clark, Sr. and wife, Nancy of Santa Fe, Joe Clark and wife, Jody, Gator Clark and wife, Cheryl, both of Texas City, Glen Dale Clark, Randy Clark and wife, Rhonda both of Dickinson, Billy Wayne Clark of Bayou Vista; sisters, Lu Ann Yates and husband, Larry of Livingston, Elsie Shepherd and husband, Billy of Arkansas, Nell Clark of San Marcos; special friend, Shardale Villarreal of Santa Fe.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Mr. Larry Yates officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Billy Wayne Clark, Charles Clark, Sr., Glen Dale Clark, Michael Clark, Duane Cole, Tom Dawson, James Johnston and Bo Taylor. Honorary bearers will be Jeff Cameron, Tim Clark and Travis Villarreal.
