Frank Daniel Flisowski

 

     SANTA FE - Mr. Frank Daniel Flisowski passed from this life Monday, June 4, 2007, in Texas City.

 

     Born March 5, 1924 in Chappell Hill, TX, Mr. Flisowski had been a resident of Santa Fe for 25 years, previously of Galveston.  He had been employed as a longshoreman with the International Longshoreman Association Local # 307, a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, farming, spending time with his family and was a very loving husband.

 

     He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alice Annette Staggs; parents, Wallace and Mary (Mikolajeski) Flisowski; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

 

     Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Mellie “Mary” Thompson Flisowski; son, Tommy Thompson and wife, Anna of La Vernia, TX; 7 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Hattie Hoffart of Houston.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend John Kappe officiating.  Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

     Casketbearers will be John Flisowski, Johnny Ray Flisowski, Robert Gurka, Roy Hoffart, Stan Petty and Tommy Thompson.

 

     Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.  Vigil Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Sister Mary Anne Hollmann officiating.

 

     Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 10114 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563. 

 

     The family would like to express a special thank you to Debbie Gurka for the loving care she gave to Mr. Flisowski during his illness.
