James Wyman “Jimmy” Zaro
SANTA FE - Mr. James Wyman “Jimmy” Zaro, 63, went home to be with his Lord on November 16, 2008 at M. D. Anderson Hospital after a valiant fight with multiple myeloma cancer. Born October 15, 1945 in Galveston, Texas, he worked for the past 20 years as a welder for P. G. & E. in California where he and Mary made their home until recently when they returned to Texas for treatments. James was a Blue Lodge Mason with Lodge 1002 in Sour Lake, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Belknap when it was commissioned, and during the Vietnam conflict, and recently he attended its decommissioning.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Juanita Zaro; brother, Jesse Ray Zaro; nephew, Jay Zaro; and a niece, Nicole Lee Zaro.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Mary Paxton Zaro; son, Donald Ray Zaro and wife, Sunshine; daughters, Dr. Annette Yvonne Zaro and husband, Troy Campa, Kimberly LaFrance Hinson; grandchildren, Talon Drake Zaro, Cole Zaro Campa, Dax Zaro Campa, James Hugh Zaro, Michael Dwayne Hinson, Paxton D’vonne Hinson; brothers, Joe Zaro, John Zaro and wife, Bobbie, Norman Zaro and wife, Peggy, Jack Zaro, Darrell “Bubba” Zaro and wife, Bobbie, Steve Zaro and wife, Nancy, Jake Zaro, Danny Zaro and wife, Terry; sisters, Edith Elliott, Barbara Miller, Lenora Dickerson and husband, J.C.; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
Memorial graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2008, at Houston National Cemetery with entombment to follow.
