Keith Allen “Jayar” Martinez, Jr.

KINGWOOD - Mr. Keith Allen “Jayar” Martinez, Jr. passed from this life Sunday, March 13, 2011, at his home. 

     Born November 6, 1982 in Galveston, TX, Mr. Martinez had been raised in Santa Fe, recently living in Kingwood.  He had been employed as a welder for ten years, most recently working with his father at Dresser Rand.  Keith was an accomplished chef and enjoyed sharing this talent with family and friends.  In addition, he relished writing poetry and had several pieces that were published.  He was a wonderful man and will truly be missed by all of those with whom he shared his life.

     Survivors include his loving parents, Keith Martinez Sr. and wife, Roanne of Kingwood; son, Kayden Martinez of Santa Fe; brother, Dustin Martinez and wife, Tamar of Richardson; sister, Dawnielle Rodriguez and husband, Johnny of Rhode Island; grandparents, Yolanda O’Merry of Plano, Judy Quijano of San Antonio, John J. Martinez of La Marque; great-grandmother, Connie Machorro of Temple; aunts and uncles, Sylvana Boyce of Forney, James Hicks and  Joe Hicks both of Plano, Vince O’Merry and wife, Mercedes of San Diego, Kimberley Sanchez and husband, David of Dickinson, Kerri Hayes of Texas City, Kevin C. Martinez of Texas City; nephews, Trenton and Zeb Martinez; niece, Zoey Rodriguez; numerous cousins and other relatives.

     Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Monday March 21, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor John Newton officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

     Casketbearers will be Brent Hayes, Taylor Hayes, Kacy Martinez, Kody Martinez, David Sanchez, Jordan Sanchez; honorary bearers will be Joe Hicks, Josh Hicks, Christopher O’Merry and Dustin Yohan.
