Caskets Caskets are manufactured from many materials such as Bronze, Copper, Stainless Steel, Steel, Fiberglass, Hardwood, Softwood, and various composite materials.
We find in each of these categories a wide price variance. Primarily this is due to a combination of the types of material used, the thickness, the finish, the interior, the hardware and the shape.
Bronze and Copper are among the most expensive and last the longest. They come in varying thicknesses of metal and are usually classified by ounces. A 48 ounce is heavier than a 32 ounce.
Steel caskets are designated and classified by gauge. The steel thicknesses are 16, 18, 20 and 22 gauge, with the 16 gauge being the thickest and the 22 gauge being the thinnest.
Hardwood caskets are manufactured from the various types of hardwood trees. Walnut, Mahogany, Cherry, Birch, Maple, Oak, Willow and Poplar. The better caskets are made of solid wood.
Softwood caskets are manufactured from the various types of softwood trees, pine, gum, etc. Normally these caskets are then covered with some type of fabric covering.
We can provide quotations on individual units or on custom designed caskets. Please contact one of our Funeral Directors for that information.

Vaults Not unlike caskets, burial vaults are manufactured in several ways and of different materials. Some materials used in vault manufacture are Copper, Stainless Steel, Steel and Concrete. The primary design idea is to keep the casket dry in the grave by prohibiting the entrance of water.
Copper vaults are among the most costly and are priced dependant upon the copper content.
Stainless Steel, as the name implies, are vaults that are rust resistant.
Steel vaults are manufactured by thickness of metal and come in galvanized and non galvanized in thicknesses of 7, 10 and 12 gauge steel. The 7 gauge is the thickest and the 12 gauge is the thinnest.
Copper, Stainless Steel and Steel vaults are manufactured to function as an air seal vault. The tops are the largest part and serve as a dome that covers the casket and latches to the base underneath the casket. The air trapped in the dome prevents the entrance of water as would a glass inverted in a sink full of water.
Concrete vaults are manufactured of concrete reinforced with steel. The base is the larger portion that holds the casket. The lid is then fitted on the base by means of a tongue and grove joint. Since concrete is porous, a synthetic liner is inserted in the base and lid to stop the entrance of water.
In addition to Caskets and Vaults, we also make available other merchandise relative to the funeral industry. Although a complete line of merchandise is not pictured here, we offer such necessary things as urns, clothes, monuments, markers, memorial books, flag cases, acknowledgement cards, etc.
Our Funeral Directors are available to speak with you concerning product selection and pricing on any of the products we offer. Please contact us with any questions you have.
