Andrew Jackson LaMance

 

TEXAS CITY – Mr. Andrew Jackson LaMance passed from this life Thursday morning, April 22, 2010, in Texas City.

 

     Born October 3, 1924 in Lovelady, TX, Mr. LaMance had been a resident of Texas City and Galveston since 1949.  He was an offshore welder and owner of Land and Sea Welding for over 20 years and served in the United States Army during WWII.  Mr. LaMance enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson and Sussie (Brasher) LaMance; one brother and three sisters.

 

     Survivors include his loving wife of over 61 years, Dorothy May LaMance of Texas City; children and their spouses, Deborah and John Acey of Santa Fe, Barbara Dailey of La Marque, Delynn Falcon of Gainesville, FL, Jack Dean and Ann LaMance of Parsons, TN; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

 

     A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home with interment at Houston National Cemetery.
