Anthony Sckittone, Jr.
MART, TX — Anthony “Tony” Sckittone, Jr., 60, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 in the VA Hospital in Waco, TX.
Tony was born June 28, 1951 in Texas City. He attended Santa Fe High School and joined the military at the age of 17. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the US Marines for 6 years and 14 years in the US Army, receiving many awards and medals including the Purple Heart, retiring after 20 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved to ride his Harley Davidson.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Sckittone of Mart, TX; mother, Eva Sckittone of Santa Fe; son, Anthony Sckittone, III; daughter, Terri Wiese and husband, Greg; granddaughters, Ashley and Taylor Wiese of Houston; grandson, Zachary Sckittone of Houston; sister, Linda Kay Sckittone and brother-in-law Leon Yost of Santa Fe; brother, Carl Sckittone and fiancé, Linda Schlateger of Santa Fe; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
