BACLIFF, TX – Mr. Billy Wilson (Bill) Abbott went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 19, 2008.
Born December 19, 1935 in Hamilton, Alabama, Bill had been a resident of Bacliff for 3 years, previously of Birmingham, AL. He was a self-employed contract painter and had served faithfully in the U. S. Army.
Preceded in death by his son, Buddy, survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Richard Yeatts, Velma and Tommy Emerson, Debra Coe; siblings, Jane Bowen, Marie Gothard, Earleen Garner, Belinda Oshaw, Jimmy Abbott, Ann Poe; step mother, Gladiola Abbott; grandchildren, Mark and Estella Coe, Jennifer and John Mims, Eddie and Shayne Abbott, Theresa Lee, Brandi and Eric Sailors, Reed and Amanda Emerson, Ryan Emerson, Stephanie and Robert Yeatts; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Forest Park East Cemetery, Reverend Walter Hall officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Memorial services will also be held March 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Tarrant Church of God of Prophecy, 1200 Jackson Blvd, Tarrant, AL, 35217.
