Britton Douglas Brown
HITCHCOCK - Britton Douglas Brown went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2009 with his loved ones, family and friends by his side. He was born on April 24, 1969 in Pasadena, Texas to Katherine and Fred Joseph Brown. Britton was preceded in death by his father, Fred Brown, step-father, Titus Dickens, Grandparents, William and Tennie Smith, Lois and Joseph Brown, Arvin and Gerry Dryden, step-brother, Mike Dickens, father-in-law, Bill Beall, uncles, Ronald Brown, Fred Parrish, Britton Smith, aunt, Laurine Meador. He is survived by his wife, Gina Beall Brown, son, Joshua David Brown, mother, Katherine Brown Dickens, sisters, Gina Wood and husband Jason, Cheri Rodriguez and husband Mauro, step-sisters, Monica Harvey and husband Mike, Janice Duncan and husband Steve, step-brother, Tony Dickens and wife Ellen, aunt, Renea Brown Cowan, Margaret Parrish Amodio, uncles, Richard Brown, Raymond Brown and Robert Brown, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Britton attended elementary school in Deer Park, Texas, until moving to Hitchcock in 1979. He then attended Christian school in Alvin and Santa Fe, Texas. Britton married Gina on September 26, 1987. Britton had a loving and fun personality. His favorite things to do were fishing, hunting, cooking, having pets, growing plants and surfing the internet. He completed his Security Certification at the College of the Mainland, he enjoyed working in that field for several years. He was also employed by Radio Shack and Sterling Lighthouse Printing Company until returning to Security work for a short time.
After suffering from two car accidents, a back injury and pain with disk disease, he became unable to work or enjoy many of the things he had once enjoyed the last years of his life. Britton will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2010 at Hayes Funeral Home in Santa Fe, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm with the Service beginning at 7:00 pm with the Rev. O.J. Herring ministering.
