C. P. (Pat) Brown, Jr.

 

SANTA FE - Mr. C. P. (Pat) Brown, Jr. passed from this life Monday, February 6, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.

 

     Mr. Brown was born December 20, 1939 to C. P. Brown, Sr. and Thelma Francis O’Connor Brown.  Mr. Brown had been a resident of Santa Fe for the past 30 years.  He was a retired member of Operating Engineers Local #450, retired from Monsanto and was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3789. 

 

     In his early years, Mr. Brown was a bull rider in the local county rodeos, enjoyed frequent fishing trips with his sons, loved spending time with his family and friends and was always willing to lend a hand to friends in need.  Pat will be sadly missed by his companions, Candy Lee and KiKi. 

 

     Mr. brown is preceded in death by his father, C. P. Brown, Sr.; brother, Robert L. Brown; son, Billy Ray Brown.

 

     He is survived by his mother, Thelma Francis Brown; wife of 20 years, Karen Sue Brown; brother, Billy Joe Brown; sons, Mike and Ricky Brown; step children, Debra Morris, Stephanie Reed, Wendy Zielinski (Marty) and Jason Arnold; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Mary Thornal; sister-in-law, Marilyn McLauren (Ronnie); very special friend and the mother of his 3 sons, Sharon L. Grounds.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Webb officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

     Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.
