Eliezer Moreno
TEXAS CITY - Mr. Eliezer Moreno passed from this life Friday afternoon, December 11, 2009, at UTMB in Galveston.
Born October 26, 1966 in Pihuamo, Jal, Mexico, Mr. Moreno was a resident of Texas City for over 27 years. He had been employed as manager of Efren’s Paint and Body Shop for 27 years and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Texas City. Eliezer had raised his brothers and sisters; and, he had been a devoted husband and father to his family. He was known as an intelligent man and was quite a jokester, always laughing, looking at the bright side of things and making everyone else laugh.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Moreno and father-in-law, Rudy Ramos.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rosie Moreno of Texas City; sons, Matthew Moreno, Isaac Moreno, Andrew Moreno, all of Texas City; mother, Eva Moreno of La Marque; mother-in-law, Eva Ramos of Texas City; brother, Pedro Moreno of La Marque; sisters, Andriana Orta and husband, Jose of Hitchcock, Alma Salazar of La Marque; nephews, Brandon Moreno, Jose Salazar, III; nieces, Rachel Salazar, Shiann Moreno, all of La Marque, Jacqueline Orta and Adriana Orta, both of Hitchcock.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church with Reverend Tom Ponzini, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Casketbearers will be Matthew Moreno, George Zuniga, Jose Orta, Efren Gonzalez, Carlos Ramos and Michael Garza. Honorary bearers will be Isaac Moreno and Andrew Moreno.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
