Floyd R. Jordan

 

SANTA FE - Mr. Floyd R. Jordan passed from this life Friday, February 20, 2009, in Texas City.

 

     Born August 25, 1936 in Roff, Oklahoma, Mr. Jordan had been a resident of Santa Fe for 30 years and served our country in the US Navy from 1955-1959.  Mr. Jordan worked as a mechanic with T & L Lease Service for 30 years before retiring for the second time and began enjoying spending his time working in the yard and driving his tractor.  The best part of his retirement was spending time with the one and only love of his life, his wife of 48 years, Arvetta Jordan.

 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, George W.  and Opal Jordan and is survived by his wife, Arvetta; stepmother, Mary Jordan; brother, Mike Jordan and wife, Tina; sisters, Lottie Eubanks and husband, Bill, Dorothy L. Caudill and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

     Casketbearers will be Delworth Thomas, Joe Woods, Mark Rodriguez, Randy Spann, Gary Grob, and Wayne Stanley.

 

     A visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
