Fredric Joseph Zacherl
SANTA FE – Mr. Fredric Joseph Zacherl passed from this life Thursday morning, July 28, 2011, at his home in Santa Fe.
Born December 26, 1938 in Lucinda, Pennsylvania, Mr. Zacherl had recently moved to Santa Fe and was previously of Palestine and Leeper, Pennsylvania. He had worked as a truck driver for 49 years at Krevda Brothers and Klapec Trucking in Oil City, PA, retiring from Wal-Mart DC 6836 in Palestine. Mr. Zacherl’s memberships included Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock, Knights of Columbus Council #1323 in Palestine and was an honorary lifetime member of the Farmington Township Volunteer Fire Company. He had served in the U. S. Army and was an avid motorcycle rider.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 52 years, Nancy Zacherl; sons, David Zacherl and wife, Erin of Texas City, Todd Zacherl and wife, Lori of Santa Fe; brothers, Leslie Zacherl and wife, Betty of Pinellas Park, FL, George Zacherl and wife, Eileen of Emlenton, PA and Daniel Zacherl and wife, Jeannie of Mercer, PA. Mr. Zacherl was a loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Sondra, Kyle, Dustin and Lauren; and great-grandchildren, Kloe and Taylor.
Local visitation will be from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Hayes Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 4:00 p.m., recited by Deacon Alvin Lovelady.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday in Crown, PA.
