Lillard Eugene “Gene” Korn, Sr.

 

SANTA FE – Mr. Lillard Eugene “Gene” Korn, Sr. passed from this life Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Galveston.

 

     Born January 15, 1936 in Houston, Mr. Korn had been a lifetime resident of Santa Fe for 26 years, previously of Houston. He was a Peace Officer for 20 years and was an officer with the Hitchcock, Police Department, Galveston County Constable’s Office and warrant officer with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Department. “Gene” was a member of New Life Community Church, the John Mitchell Masonic Lodge 1401 and the Scottish Rite Temple.

 

     Preceded in death by his parents, Lillard Gus and Eunice Rae Korn and his granddaughter, Myla Faye Korn-Hall, survivors include his wife, Joyce Korn; sons, Lillard Eugene Korn, Jr. and wife, Sylvia, Wade Alan Korn, Steve Wren and his companion, Lisa Hodges; daughter, Devon Deneé Korn and her companion, Edward Joseph Hall; sister, Ann Kennedy and husband, Sam; grandchildren, Ashley Wren, Steven Wren, II, Ryan Kyle Korn, Jessica Angeline Korn, Jordan Ashley Korn; great-grandson, Nicholas Hull, step-grandchildren Edward Joseph Hall, Jr., Bella Hall, Malcolm Hall and nieces and nephews, David Kennedy, Sheri Kennedy Myers, Jennifer Bayliss Saucier, Timothy Bayliss, Seth Lauzon and Aimee Lauzon.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Mr. Scott Eckenrode officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery with Masonic Rites and Military Honors.

 

     Casketbearers will be Michael Saucier, Timothy Bayliss, Seth Lauzon, Ryan Korn, Steven Wren, II, Edward Joseph Hall and Edward Hall, Jr.

 

     Friends may call from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
