George Crouch
SANTA FE – Mr. George Lewis Crouch passed from this life Saturday morning, February 26, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born March 21, 1946 in Texas City, George had spent the majority of his life in Santa Fe. He had worked as an automobile mechanic for many years with his father at Crouch’s Phillips 66 in Santa Fe and most recently at Norman Frede Chevrolet. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed woodcarving and spending as much time possible with his family, whether it was cheering his children on in their activities or just having quiet, quality time together. He was also a former member of the Santa Fe Band Pit Crew.
Preceded in death by his father, Lewis Jay “Lew” Crouch and his grandson, Beau Lee Usselton; survivors include his wife of almost 33 years, Mary; children, Matthew Crouch of Santa Fe, Kristin Crouch Deville and husband, Merrick of League City, George Leader of Katy, Vanneza Usselton and husband, Robert of Katy, Cammy Lynn Mason of Washington; mother, Inez Crouch; sister, Marcella Crouch, both of Santa Fe; grandson, Robbie Garrison and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Living Stones Church in Alvin, Reverend Noy Pruitt officiating. A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, P. O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486 for Melanoma research.
