George Earl Otto
SANTA FE - Mr. George Earl Otto passed from this life Saturday, January 22, 2011, peacefully at his home.
Born May 8, 1945 in Galveston, TX, Mr. Otto had been a lifelong resident of Galveston County. He retired from K-Mart as a security officer after 12 years. George had retired after 20 years of proudly serving our country in the United States Army during both the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He enjoyed working on boats, fishing, playing cards and was an avid football fan, especially supporting the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Walter and Lillian Opal (Presley) Otto; brothers, Fred Otto, Sr., Cecil Anderson, Robert Lee Otto; sisters, Tommy Jean Shiver and Bonnie Ruth Outlaw.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Maria Otto of Santa Fe; son, Michael Otto and wife, Robin of Texas City; daughters, Ruby Otto of Pearland, Veronika Fuller and husband, Dan of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Kandiss Ronning, Kassie Ronning, Meagan Otto, Elizabeth Fuller; brother, Walter Otto of Towanda, KS; sisters, Opal Blackman of Santa Fe, Ruby Lee Thompson of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Hans Wild, Sr. and wife, Veronika; niece, Sabine Wild and a nephew, Hans Wild, Jr. all of Bad-Kissingen, Germany.
A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, (409)925-3501.
