Guadalupe Sambrano Barboza

 

SANTA FE - Mr. Guadalupe Sambrano Barboza passed from this life Sunday morning, November 21, 2010, in Texas City.

 

     Born November 27, 1926 in Houston, TX, Mr. Barboza had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe.  He had been employed as an equipment operator with the Texas Highway Department in La Marque for 18 years, served in the US Army during WWII, was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

 

     He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dora Barboza; parents, Herculano and Juana Solis (Sambrano) Barboza; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

 

     Survivors include his son, Lupe Barboza, Jr. and wife, Amy of Indiana; daughter, Nancy Clark and husband, Mike of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Cindy Barboza, Juanita Gaona, Savanna Clark, Elizabeth Clark, Michael Barboza, Lupe Barboza, III, Paul Skadowski, Jordan Barboza; great-grandchildren, Jose Gaona, Jr., Jessica Barboza, Michael Barboza, Isaiah Rivera, Autumn Skadowski, Alessandrea Barboza, Jose Cervantes, Isaaca Barboza, Robert Barboza; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

     A Funeral Mass will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

 

     Casketbearers will be Lupe Barboza, Michael Barboza, Mike Clark, Jose Gaona, Julio Garcia and Paul Skadowski.

 

     Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.

 

     Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
