Harvey Alister Rose, II
ALVIN - Mr. Harvey Alister Rose, II passed from this life Friday afternoon, April 29, 2011, at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.
Born November 20, 1954 in Ogden, Utah, Mr. Rose had been a lifetime resident of Galveston County, living in Alvin for the past 2 years. An avid golfer since 7, he had been in the golf industry for 35 years most recently as the superintendent of Clear Creek Golf Course. In addition, he was an active member, board of director and Past President of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America. Harvey was also a member of Mission Rodeo Church in Alvin and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His love of nature and sports continued with his memberships to the Audubon Society, Gulf Coast Conservation Association, Club Corp of America and the Chairman of Texas Ducks Unlimited of Santa Fe/Hitchcock for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Alister and Ada (Moncho) Rose; brother, Edward Alister Rose, Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 22 years, Alecia Ballard Rose of Alvin; children, Brouke Rose-Carpenter and husband, SGT. Arthur W. Carpenter IV, USMC, Kendal Rose and fiancé, Michael Fleming of Alvin, Dwayne Ryder and wife, Misty of League City; grandchild, Rex William Rose Carpenter; one grandson on the way, Joel Patrick Rose Carpenter; numerous nieces and nephews; one he considered a daughter, Amber Armbrester of Santa Fe and many friends who thought of him as a brother, father or grandfather.
A memorial service will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home. A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
