James W. Bond, Jr.

 

SANTA FE - Mr. James W. Bond, Jr. passed from this life Wednesday morning, September 8, 2010, at his home.

 

     Born May 28, 1935 in Bluefield, WV, Mr. Bond had been a resident of Santa Fe for 41 years, previously of La Marque.  He had been employed as a Machinist for Carbide Chemical Company for 35 years, was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  James also enjoyed reading western books, metal detecting, and working in his yard and being with his best friend, “Weiner Dog.”

 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Nina Jean (Bradley) Bond; parents, James and Ethel (Cundiff) Bond.

 

     Survivors include his fiancé, Judy Skinner of Santa Fe; children, James Ray and Marsha Bond, Robert Lee Bond and Krystal, Dona Lynn Ridgeway and fiancé, James Stypulczak, Robbie Jean and Wayne Spencer, all of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Dana Bond, James Bond, Crystal Ridgeway, Brandy and Sean Meade, Doug and Monica Spencer, Billy and Loran Spencer, Stephanie Charlesworth, Robert Bond, Jr. and Stacy, Randy and Rebecca Bond, Heather Bond, Shelby Bond; twelve great-grandchildren; brother Victor and Darlene Bond of Seattle, WA; sisters, Betty Jo and James Briscoe of Houston, Donna Sue Nelson and Al Eckerman of Clear Lake; special friends of 60 years, Donald and Doris Corey of Santa Fe.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor John Newton officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

     Casketbearers will be Bobby Bond, James Bond Jr., Randy Bond, TSGT James Briscoe, Doug Spencer and Billy Spencer.

 

     Friends may call from 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
