Steve Currin
LEAGUE CITY - Mr. Steve Currin passed from this life Monday evening, April 25, 2011, at his home.
Born February 27, 1954 in Graham, NC, Mr. Currin had been a resident of Galveston County since 1972, living in League City. He had been employed with NASA as a computer engineer for 25 years. Steve loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar, The Rolling Stones was his favorite band.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lou and Alma Loftis Currin.
Survivors include his daughter, Shannon Currin; step-daughter, Yamel Melchor and husband, Ascension; sisters, Joyce Currin Mattocks and husband, Gary, Willie Currin King and husband, Bill; grandson, Julian Melchor; nieces, Pilar Carrigan and husband, Gary, Montiel Long; nephew, Thomas B. Mattocks; great nieces, Izabella Guerrero, Sydney Carrigan, Ashley Mattocks; great nephews, Tommy, Gary II and Tristan Mattocks, Fletcher Long, Dominic Carrigan; Shannon’s mother, Eraida Currin; and companion Laurie Hopson and family.
A memorial service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor C. Wayne Clement officiating. A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
