John David “J.D.” Williams, Sr. SANTA FE – Mr. John David “J.D.” Williams, Sr. passed from this life Sunday afternoon, August 2, 2009, at his home. Born February 1, 1931 in Allen, Oklahoma, Mr. Williams had been a resident of Santa Fe for 55 years, previously of El Reno, OK. He had served in the United States Air Force and had worked as a welder with Todd Shipyards for 10 years. Mr. Williams enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing bingo. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Samuel and Ruby Stella (Davis) Williams; son, Joseph Wallace Williams; daughter, Venita Kay Merchant; granddaughters, Tonya Clark and Sandra Williams. Survivors include his loving wife of over 55 years, Jean Williams of Santa Fe; sons, John David Williams, Jr. and wife, Belinda of Shelbyville, IN, Walter David Williams; daughters, Judy Williams of Santa Fe, Ruthie Payne and husband, Bill of College Station; son-in-law, Charlie Merchant of Santa Fe; brother, Lonnie Ray Williams and wife, Carol of El Reno, OK; sisters, Ann Jean Matthews of El Reno, OK, Peggy Matthews of Tuskahoma, OK; sister-in-law. Elaine Williams of El Reno, OK; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2009, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Medlin officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Michael Clark, Steve Clark, Benji Merchant, Charles Merchant, Mac Merchant and Cody Williams. Honorary Casketbearers will be Chris Ayala and Glen Byrd.
