Johnny Almendarez, Sr.
SANTA FE - Mr. Johnny Almendarez, Sr. passed from this life Monday evening, March 10, 2008, in Webster.
Born April 2, 1948 in Galveston, TX, Mr. Almendarez had been a resident of Santa Fe for 35 years, previously of Hitchcock and Galveston. He served in the US Marine Corps, had been employed as a Fleet Manager for the Galveston County Road and Bridge Department and enjoyed spending time golfing, watching movies and making woodcrafts.
Survivors include his son, Johnny Almendarez, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Baytown; grandchildren, John Samuel Oehler Almendarez, Victoria Sophia Almendarez, John Andrew Almendarez; brothers, Felix Almendarez and wife, Sylvia of Texas City, Alex Almendarez and wife, Linda of Santa Fe.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend Rickie Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Alexander Almendarez, Jr., Vicente Almendarez, Michael Almendarez, Victor Almendarez, James Vallejo and Vernell Vallejo.
