John Stewart Potter, Sr.

 

KEMAH - Mr. John Stewart Potter, Sr. passed from this life Wednesday evening, April 20, 2011, in League City.

 

     Born December 26, 1929 in Concord, NH, Mr. Potter had been a resident of Galveston County since 1961, previously of West Columbia.  He had been self employed as a commercial fisherman for over 30 years, was a member of the FOE # 3199 and the American Legion in Bacliff and enjoyed working, doing yard work, living life in general and visiting with family and friends.

 

     He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary M. Potter; sister, Marilyn Armstrong and husband, Guy; son, Edward Arthur Lowe.

 

     Survivors include his sons, John S. Potter and wife, Jenny of League City, Michael T. Potter of Kemah; daughter, Cherie Lynn Potter of Kemah; stepdaughters, Rosemary Pichard and husband, Kenny of San Leon, Celeste Conners and husband, John of Clevelend; daughter-in-law, Willa Lowe of Panama City, FL; brother, David Welch and wife, Pat of Tennessee; grandchildren, Michael Todd, John Nathan Lara, Joshua Potter, Jeremy Potter, Madison Hone, Tabitha, Joyce Conners, Nikki Conners, Roland Conners, Christopher Lowe, Michelle Lowe; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

     The family will conduct a private service at a later date.  A cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
