Joseph Anthony Webber

 

DANCIGER, TX - Mr. Joseph Anthony Webber passed from this life Saturday morning, November 29, 2008, in Sweeny, TX.

 

     Born September 1, 1939 in Arcadia, TX, Mr. Webber had been a resident of Danciger for 30 years, previously of Santa Fe.  He had been employed as a tugboat engineer with G & H Towing for 30 years Joe was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #3789, served in the US Army and was an avid hunter.

 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Isaac, Sr. and Thelma (Anderson) Webber; brother, Paul Webber; brothers-in-law, Harold Hudson, David LeCompte and Martin Sharp.

 

     Survivors include his daughter, Diana Chenowith of New Braunfels; son, Dale Smith of Kingwood; brother, Robert I. Webber, Jr. and wife, Charlotte of Santa Fe; sisters, Mary Frances LeCompte of Alvin, Imelda Maria Sharp of Danbury, Roberta Jean Hudson of Austin, Antoinette Winn of Santa Fe and Teresa Louise Giessen and husband, Jack of Danbury; sister-in-law, Mary Webber of Galveston; grandchildren, Richard, Joshua, Robert, Katie; grandchildren, Trinity and Kameron; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

 

     A funeral service will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend John Kappe, celebrant.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

 

     Casketbearers will be Gashan Giessen, Duke Hudson, Jody LeCompte, Robbie Webber, George Webber and Tom Winn. Honorary bearers will be Billy Wipple and Darrell Kearley.

 

     Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501. A Vigil Service will begin at 7 p.m. conducted by Don LeCompte.

 

     Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the Capitol Campaign at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 10114 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas 77563.
