Kit Johnson
SANTA FE - Mr. Kit Johnson passed from this life Monday, March 21, 2011, in Houston.
Born October 21, 1944 in Alvin, TX, Mr. Johnson had been a lifetime resident of Santa Fe. He proudly served in the United States Army and had been employed as a horsetrainer. Kit attended Living Stones Church, enjoyed racing and training horses and avidly followed barrel racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Murry (Tully) Johnson; sister, Elizabeth Ann Ketchum and is survived by his brother, Albert Johnson, Jr. and wife, Carol of Texas City; sisters, Lillie Eller of Chriesman, Alma Griggs of Flynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
Casketbearers will be Matt Davis, Willie Eller, Charlie Johnson, Chris Johnson, Travis Kaufman and Nick Rotolo. Honorary bearers will be Daniel Gonzales and Laroy Williamson.
