Leroy Pagel
SANTA FE – Mr. Leroy Pagel, 75, passed away at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City on January 3, 2010, after a lengthy illness.
Leroy was born October 5, 1934 in Ganado, Texas. He retired after 40 years of service from Mitchell Energy as a Production Superintendent, served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Santa Fe. He loved to garden, work on the ranch and spend time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Hattie (Tegeler) Pagel and his sister, Marlene Pagel. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maurine Pagel; daughter, Gaylyn Wisko, both of Santa Fe; son, Rodd Pagel and wife, Debbey of Groesbeck; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Annabelle Pagel of Victoria; brother-in-law and wife, Shelton and Paula Kuhlman of Ganado; grandchildren, Kaleb Wisko of Santa Fe, Sean, Ty and Beau Pagel, Derek, Devon and Payden Pringle of Groesbeck.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 7, from 5 to 8 pm at Hayes Funeral Home in Santa Fe. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 8, at St. James Lutheran Church in Ganado with Reverend Wayne C. Clement and Reverend Chris Heinold officiating. Burial will be at Ganado Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Santa Fe on Saturday, January 9, at noon.
