Lynn Rush
LA MARQUE - Mr. Lynn Rush passed from this life Friday evening, February 11, 2011, peacefully at home. Born June 20, 1922 in Non, Oklahoma, Mr. Rush had been a resident of Galveston County since 1928, previously of Oklahoma. He had worked as a mechanic the majority of his life and operated the Gulf Service Station in Alta Loma with his father, Fred. He had also worked in construction and on a tugboat, was a member of College View Baptist Church and had proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 55 years, Lula Mae (Lane) Rush; parents, Fred and Annie Rush; brother, Leon Rush; sister, Joyce Bishop. Survivors include his daughter, Diana Lynn DeRouchie of LaMarque; son, Dennis Keith Rush and wife, Anita of Arlington; grandchildren, Aditra K’Lyn DeRouchie, CPT Jeremy Keith Rush and wife, Erica, Jamey Keith Rush and wife, Emily; sister, Mary Helen Ray of Santa Fe; great- grandchildren, Mason Keith Rush, Elizabeth Carol Rush, Benjamin Charles Rush; numerous nieces and nephews and former son-in-law, Stephen DeRouchie. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Sills officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ken Hayman officiating. Casketbearers will be Charles Cunningham, Tracy Harwell, Jay Hill, Jamey Rush, Bill Self and Charles Vanier. Honorary bearers will be CPT Jeremy K. Rush (ARMY), Eugene Felter, TSGT Neco Hill (USAF), Jimmy Brigance, Jody Colbeck. Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
