Manuel Valdez

 

SANTA FE - Mr. Manuel Valdez passed from this life Friday morning, January 30, 2009, in Webster.

 

     Born December 24, 1938 in Galveston, Mr. Valdez had been a lifelong resident of Galveston County and was a commercial shrimper with Liberty Fishing for 25 years. He was a loving family man who enjoyed carpentry, working in the yard, making people laugh with his jokes and doing things for others.

 

     He was preceded in death by wife, Patsy Valdez; sons, Billie Hidalgo and Eddie Krischke; parents, Miguel and Margaret (Martinez) Valdez and brother, Mike Valdez.

 

     Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Jerry Puckett of Dayton, Michelle and Adrian Valdez of Santa Fe, Trisha and John Polinard of Santa Fe, Cynthia Landers of Odessa, Deanna Hidalgo of Louisiana; son, Albert Valdez of LaPorte; grandchildren, Olivia and Roger Valdez, Jose and Lexus Duran, Victoria Polinard, Eddie Nash, Margaret Holloway, Robby Ryan, Lacie, Dylan, Derrick Landers; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Chaplain Hampton Mabry officiating.  Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery.

 

     Casketbearers will be Jose Duran, John Polinard, Jason Tacquard, Adrian Valdez, Roger Valdez and Jerry Wright.
