Matthew Scott Cambiano
SANTA FE – Mr. Matthew Cambiano passed from this life Thursday afternoon, September 23, 2010, in Santa Fe.
Born October 1, 1963 in Texas City, Texas, Matthew had been a longtime resident of Galveston County. He was a member of the Texas City High School graduating class of 1982 and had worked as an equipment technician for Aggreko in Pearland for several years. In addition to his technician abilities and his talents for carpentry, his true love was being on or near the water (whether fishing or boating) and cheering on his favorite team, the Houston Astros.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas (Chalky) Cambiano and his brother, Richard (Ricky) Cambiano.
He is survived by his son, Pvt. Matthew Scott Cambiano, Jr., currently on active duty with the U. S. Army and stationed in Afghanistan; his mother, Beverly Cambiano of Hitchcock; brothers, Nicholas Cambiano, IV and his wife, Bonnie of Alvin, Michael Cambiano and his wife, Annette of La Marque; sister, Lynette McKenzie and her husband, Tim of Texas City; his close friend, Leigh Ann Clark of Santa Fe, and 5 nephews and 2 nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, Reverend Chacko Puthumayil officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.
Casketbearers will be Mike Anderson, Jarrod Clark, Randy Culbreth, Mike Grossman, Marvin Janicek and Joe Lee Wilson. Honorary bearers will be Brian McAdams and Steve Wilson.
Visitation with the family will begin at Noon on Tuesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
