HITCHCOCK
- Mr. Norman Kenneth Tholcken passed from this life Friday evening, March 21, 2008 in Hitchcock.


    Born January 31, 1926 in Galveston, Mr. Tholcken had been a resident of Hitchcock since 1950, previously of Galveston.  He had been employed as a Master plumber and was the owner and operator of Nichol Bros. Plumbing in Dickinson for 20 years. Mr. Tholcken served in US Navy during WWII, seeing action during the invasion of thePhilippines and Okinawa and was a former member of the Hitchcock Lion’s Club and a current member of the Texas City Masonic Lodge AF & AM #1118. 


    Preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Tholcken and great-grandson, Kevin Montgomery Crisp, survivors include his daughter, Susan Wigington and Glenn Manis of Hitchcock; grandchildren Lisa and Jess, Norman and Tylena, Brenda; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brooke, Kenneth, Michael, Emily, Gage and special friend, Bonnie Allgood.


    Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Chaplain Evelyn Lupardus officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.


    Casketbearers will be Michael Coble, James Colwell, Jess Colwell, Kenneth Colwell, Norman Desormeaux and Glenn Manis.
