                                                                    Paul Wesley Burgess


SANTA FE
- Mr. Paul Wesley Burgess passed from this life Friday afternoon, October 10, 2008 in Texas City.

    Born September 19, 1922 in Milton, OK, Mr. Burgess had been a resident of the Santa Fe area for 60 years and was a Building Trades Instructor for Groveton and Santa Fe High Schools for many years.  He served in the US Navy during WWII, was a member of First Baptist Church of Alta Loma and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. 


    He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Burgess; parents, Dee and Flora (Fountain) Burgess; sisters, Neta Bridges, Billie Cook, Jane Hendricks and brother Dee Burgess.


    Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Lisa Burgess of Santa Fe, Asa and Debrah Burgess of Mexia; grandchildren, Kathryn Roberts, Dee Howell, Amanda Bogue; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Roberts, Grant Roberts and Kinsey Howell.


    Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2008, at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Jerry I. Smith, officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
