Phillip Joel Bartlett

 

     Phillip Joel Bartlett, 73, of Santa Fe, TX passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at his residence. He was born March 31, 1937 in Simpson, West Virginia to the late Selvey and Ann Bartlett.  He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Davis and brothers, Hugh and Richard Bartlett.   

 

     Mr. Bartlett retired from Union Carbide, Texas City, TX and was also a member of the Asbestos Workers of America.  He was a past Master of John Mitchell Lodge #1401, Hitchcock, TX, the Order of Eastern Star, La Marque Chapter #979.  He was also an endowed member of Texas City Masonic Lodge # 1118 and La Marque Masonic Lodge #1325.  He was also a member of the El Mina Shrine, Galveston, TX and the Shriner’s Model T’s Club.

 

     Mr. Bartlett was an active member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Santa Fe, TX

 

     He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris; daughter, Karen and husband, Henry Mitchell of Pearland, TX and grandson, Scott Mitchell; mother-in-law, Louise Bartlett; niece, Connie Hayes of Flemington, WV; nephew, David Davis and wife, Carolyn of Flemington, WV.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Webb officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

     Casketbearers will be John Cappadona, Gary Carter, Barry Cook, Mike Nelson, Allen Reid and Greg Seay.  Honorary bearers will be Bill Heer, Raymond Rubio and Leon Yost.

 

     Friends may call from 3:00- 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
