Randy Burnell Claussen, Sr.

 

SANTA FE - Mr. Randy Burnell Claussen, Sr. passed from this life Saturday morning, December 11, 2010, in Texas City.

 

     Born February 11, 1955 in Galveston, TX, Mr. Claussen had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. He had served in the US Navy and was a self-employed rig welder for 15 years, retiring in 2008.  Randy enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, tinkering on cars, building computers, going on vacations (especially going to the beach) and spending time with his best friend, his grandson, Greg.

  

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Burnell Harry and Geraldine (Unger) Claussen and his sisters, Barbara Horn and Cheryl Hardung.

 

     Survivors include his loving wife of over 29 years, Sherry Claussen of Santa Fe; son, Randy Burnell Claussen and wife, Hyunhee of US Air Force, Germany; daughters, Jillian Claussen of Dickinson, Rickie Kassler and husband, Kris of Santa Fe, Catherine Claussen of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Greg Steveson, Kori Seiwell, Katelyn Kassler, Kenton Kassler, Mason Alexander; brothers, Russell Achord and wife, Maryann of Hitchcock, William Achord and wife, Beatrice of Santa Fe; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

     Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor John Newton officiating under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

 

     Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.

 

     Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-2008.
