Robert Lee Schulze

 

SANTA FE – Mr. Robert Lee Schulze passed from this life Friday morning, August 27, 2010, at his home.

 

     Born March 24, 1926 in Ricardo, TX, Mr. Schulze had been a resident of Santa Fe for 43 years, previously of Houston.  He had been employed as a Geophysicist with Texaco (Getty) and Petty Ray Geophysical for many years, a former member of Algoa Volunteer Fire Department and in his later years worked on computers.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed watching sports, jogging/running, raising geese, ducks, chickens and cattle and planting pecan trees. 

 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ida (Gerdes) Schulze; brother, Henry Schulze; sisters, Isabel Schulze, and Lula Braden.

 

     Survivors include his loving wife of over 54 years, Jo Alice Schulze of Algoa; sons, Brian Alan Schulze and wife, Pilar of Allen, TX, Mark Lawrence Schulze and wife, Liana of Houston; daughter, Barbara Gay Schulze of Algoa; grandchildren, Felicia Schulze, Andrea Mann, Heidi Schulze, Emely Schulze, Valeria Garcia, Carlos Garcia; great-granddaughter, Penelope Mann; brothers, Albert Schulze and wife, Elsie of Iowa Colony, Clinton Schulze and wife, Julia of Deer Park; sisters, Charlotte Koch and husband, Richard “Dick” of San Antonio, Gladys McKissick of Alvin, Annie Ruth Knowlton of Houston.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Reverend C. Wayne Clement officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

 

     Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
