Robert DeGroot
SANTA FE - Mr. Robert DeGroot passed from this life Tuesday, January 27, 2009, in Houston.
Born August 20, 1955 in Canton, IL, Mr. DeGroot had been a resident of Santa Fe for 30 years, previously of Farmington, IL. He had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for 30 years, loved to cook and bar-b-que, woodworking, was a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and especially loved his family.
Preceded in death by his father, Russell DeGroot, survivors include his loving companion, Mollie Ayala of Santa Fe; mother, Donna DeGroot, of Farmington, IL; stepchildren, Frank Cole and wife, Jamie, Kristopher Ayala and wife, Cellia, Gabrielle Ayala, all of Santa Fe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy and Alfrida DeGroot of Peoria, IL, Rick and Bonnie DeGroot of Peoria Heights, IL; grandchildren, Jacob Weeks, Frank Cole, Bryleigh Cole, Kalvin Ayala, P.J. Ayala and Gabriel Ayala.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Dayspring Christian Center, 2221 FM 646 N, with Pastor Paul Vincent officiating.
A private cremation will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
