                                                                         Anna Noto Burns


Galveston – Mrs. Anna Noto Burns, 90, passed from this life Saturday morning, October 11, 2008, at Ashton Parke Care Center in Texas City.


    She was born on February 5, 1918 in Ribera, Sicily and formerly lived in Galveston, TX and Alta Loma, TX.
 

    She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Salvatore and Angela Noto; husband, Ervin E. Burns; son, Lee DeForke, Sr.; sister, Kay Noto; brothers, Jasper Noto and Pete Noto.


    Survivors include daughter, Bennie A. Caballero and Gary Cotham; sister, Josephine Incaprera; brother, Dominic Noto; grandchildren, Marian and Larry Perez, Robert and Lilly Malmstrom, Michael Malmstrom, Sr. and Tina Simpson, Lee Deforke, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Gina, Madeline, Robyn, Jennifer, Michael J. and Lucy, Larry and Rhozine, Robert, II, Brandon and Gregory; great-great-grandchildren, Melanie and Michael, III; good friend who was like a son to her, Tony and Gloria Sanchez, wonderful friend, Jewel Huggins who baked her delicious cakes which mom would share with others, also good friends, Helen Heshmati and Aurora Vasquez.


    She prayed everyday for everyone and her faith in God was very strong. She loved to write letters to relatives and friends and also wrote her own autobiography. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.


    Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.


    Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael and Robert Malmstrom, Lee DeForke, Jr., Larry Perez,II; great-grandsons, Michael, Jr.,  Brandon, Gregory Malmstrom and Larry Perez, III.

    Friends may call beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

    A special Thanks to the Ashton Parke Care Center, Dr. Cornelia Agent, nurses and staff. Also Amed nurses and to her regular nurse, Sandy.  Edgewater volunteers who delivered hot meals daily and to Connie who came in and gave her a big hug and kiss and made her day.

    Mama, I lost my best friend when I lost you, I’m glad God chose you to be my mother. You will rest in peace now mama, no more pain. Everyone will miss you so much. I love you mama, your #1 daughter, Bennie.
