Annie Ione (White) Harbour HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Annie Ione (White) Harbour passed from this life Wednesday night, April 22, 2009, in Lewisville, TX. Born January 22, 1913 in Port Arthur, TX, Mrs. Harbour had been a resident of Hitchcock for 88 years, previously of Galveston. She had been employed as a receptionist for Dr. C. F. Mares for 15 years and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Ione had been a past member of the Catholic Friendship Club, Royal Neighbors of America, Tuesday Bridge Club and the Hitchcock Lioness Club.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Murphy Leigh Harbour; parents, James and Anna Maria (Stanley) White. Survivors include her son, Leigh William Harbour and wife, Marcia of Lewisville; grandchildren, Wendy Dowd of Dallas, Misty Notley of Lewisville, Jacqueline Gorse of Plano; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Carroll Stanley of Friendswood; sister, Fay Meier of Hitchcock. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, in the Chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Ponzini officiating. Casketbearers will be C.J. (Bill) Anderson, Mark Cook, Mark Hopkins, Myles Hopkins, Keith Meier, Ronnie Meier and Doyle White. Honorary bearer will be Dr. W. T. Longmire. Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Joe Kelly officiating and Rosary to follow . Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, 10114 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563 and or the Shriner’s Burns Hospital, 6977 Main Street, Houston, TX 77030. Mrs. Harbour’s family would like to express a special thank you to Mark and Michelle Cook and Carroll Stanley for their love, devotion and invaluable help to Mrs. Harbour.
