Bertha Ann Hingle

 

SANTA FE - Mrs. Bertha Ann Hingle passed from this life Sunday evening, December 19, 2010, at her home.

 

     Born October 13, 1939 in Waco, TX, Mrs. Hingle had been a resident of Santa Fe for 39 years, previously of Texas City.  She had been employed as a secretary with the maintenance crew at SFISD for 22 years retiring in 1999 and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  Bertha enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She always looked forward to dinners with her friends, “the birthday bunch”.

 

     She was preceded in death by her parents, James P. and Ruby (Jones) Wooley and one sister.

 

     Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Earl J. Hingle, Jr. three children, Darrell and his wife, Brenda of Hitchcock, TX, Sherry and her husband, Ronald Nelson of Bowie, TX and Jimmy Hingle and Leslie Wilks of Santa Fe, TX; one sister, Laura Johnson and husband, Jim of Alvin, TX; two brothers, Robert Wooley and wife, Gwyn of Fort Worth, TX and James Wooley and wife, Dottie of La Marque, TX.  Grandchildren are Amber Hughes, Greg “Bubba” Seay, Brittany Gratz, Emily Hingle, Ronnie “Ronjon” Nelson, Jr., Rochelle Nelson, Callie Wooley, Audrey Dominy, Grant Dominy; three great-grandchildren, Trenton, Jaxon and Cara Grace; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 

     A Funeral Mass will be conducted 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

 

     Casketbearers will be Darrell Hingle, Jimmy Hingle, Greg Seay, Jason Hughes, Ronald Nelson and Ronnie Nelson, Jr.

 

     Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.  A Vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. with Mr. Alvin Lovelady officiating.

 

     The family would like to express a special thank you to her caregivers at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Heart to Heart Hospice and Santa Fe Fire and Rescue for the compassion and care she received during her illness.
