Camilla Jeanne Coon
SANTA FE - Mrs. Camilla Jeanne Coon passed from this life Tuesday, February 1, 2011, in Santa Fe.
Born October 22, 1935 in Lakeland, GA, Mrs. Coon had been a longtime resident of Galveston County, living in Santa Fe since 1964. She had been employed with American National Insurance Company for over 25 years where she retired as a supervisor. Camilla was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, loved to read and enjoyed doing ceramics.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert “Sonny” Coon, Jr.; parents, Olen Lee and Ada Clara (Pierce).
Survivors include her daughters, Stacie Leigh Austin and husband, Lee of Santa Fe, Peggy Jan Lindsay of Houston; grandchildren, Amanda Blackerby and husband, Edward, Brittany Coon, Carissa Coon, MyKayla Austin, Ashli Coon, Nicole Lindsay, Courtney Lindsay, Skye Lindsay, Matthieu Lindsay; great-grandson, Braiden Bundick; sister, Patricia Ann Leeson of LaMarque.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend Danny Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
