Carol Lamb

SANTA FE – Mrs. Carol Chesser Lamb passed from this life Saturday evening, June 4, 2011, at her home in Santa Fe. 

     Born November 2, 1939 in Beaumont, Carol had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1973, previously of Corpus Christi.  She retired in 2000 from Rust Ewing Watt and Haney Insurance Company as a customer service representative after 12 years and had previously worked for Santa Fe Insurance Company in the 1980’s.  She was an avid reader, a member of The Pentecostals of Santa Fe, Santa Fe Senior Citizens and she enjoyed volunteering at Mainland Center Hospital and running around with her friend, Lou.

     Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth I. Lamb and her brother, Bobby Chesser, survivors include her daughters, Jamargaret “Ja” Lowry and husband, Tom, Nedette DeVries; step-son, Steve Lamb and wife, Paula, all of Santa Fe; step-daughter, Kaye Naranjo and husband, Fred of Texas City; grandchildren, Ronald Wayne DeVries, Jr., Jason Devries and wife, Karey, Thomas Lowry, Jessica Daffern and husband, Travis, Amy Lowry, Kyle DeVries, Colin Lamb and Caleb Lamb; great-grandchildren, Aidan and Evan DeVries, Rylee Daffern, Blayne Daffern, Daisy Schoppe and Violet Lowry; her aunt, Bettie Johnson and her sister-in-law, Irene Chesser Brown.

     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, Reverend L. M. Jeane officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.

     Casketbearers will be Tom Lowry, Ron DeVries, Ronald DeVries, Jr., Jason DeVries, Thomas Lowry and Kyle DeVries.  Honorary bearers will be Colin and Caleb Lamb.

     Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
