Delphia Isaacs

 

    TEXAS CITY, TX – Mrs. Delphia E. “Betty” Wersonick Isaacs passed from this life Thursday morning, January 31, 2008, in Texas City.

 

    Born June 11, 1915 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Isaacs had been a lifetime resident of Albuquerque.  She was a homemaker but had worked various jobs during her life, primarily as a caregiver to the elderly.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem and the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, all of Albuquerque.

 

    Preceded in death by her former husbands, Vernon Wersonick and Afton A. Isaacs; parents, Fred and Alice (Calkins) Pryor; 3 sisters and 2 brothers, survivors include her daughters, LaVonne “Bonnie” Gray of Cańon City, CO, Darlene C. Adams and husband, Larry of Santa Fe, TX; son, John A. Isaacs and wife, Charlene of Lubbock, TX; brothers, Bodie C. Pryor, Port Arthur, TX, William R. Pryor, Aurora, CO; grandchildren and their spouses, Kristen Gray, Jeffrey and Guilanna Gray, William and Sylvia Isaacs, Elizabeth Luann Isaacs Miller, Martin and Martha Adams, Curtis and Michelle Adams, Kirk and Laurie Adams; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

 

    Local visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. conducted by her grandson, Marty Adams. Final funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at French Mortuary University Chapel in Albuquerque, New Mexico with burial following at Sunset Memorial Park.  Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m.
