Doris Aline Piper

 

LAMARQUE - Mrs. Doris Aline Piper passed from this life Friday morning, October 23, 2009, in Santa Fe.

 

     Born January 31, 1940 in Beaumont, Mrs. Piper had been a resident of LaMarque for 7 years.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed gambling, fishing, bingo and being with her children.  

 

     Preceded in death by her parents, James and Frances Marie (Hales) Bradley; sister, Betty Jane; she is survived by her husband, James Piper of LaMarque; children, Tammy Marie Hill and her companion, Jerry, Terry Lynn Hollyfield and husband, Andy, Timothy James Rivette and wife, Cathy, Tina Renee Marks and husband, Damon, Tonya Jane Whetstein and husband, Justin; sister, Shirley Strahand; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

 

     Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor James Lewis officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

    Casketbearers will be Timothy Rivette, Damon Marks, Jay Marks, Josh Marks, Beau Marks and Andy Hollyfield. Honorary bearers will be Justin Whetstein, Richard Piper, Jerry Spence and Joshua Maples.

 

     Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.

 

     Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Christus St. John Foundation for Healthcare, P.O. Box 1919, Houston, TX 77251. 

 

      Mrs. Piper’s family wishes to express their gratitude to Tanisha Davis and the staff of Christus VNA Hospice.
