Durlyn Marie (Viotto) Nelson

 

     HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Durlyn Marie Nelson passed from this life on Thursday, January 3, 2008.

 

     Born January 20, 1929 in Galveston, TX, Mrs. Nelson had been a resident of Hitchcock for 2 years, previously of Medina Lake, TX.  She was retired but was previously employed as a service manager for the Navy Exchange.  Mrs. Nelson was of the Catholic faith, a huge advocate of the NRA, and a former “Service Chairman” for the Port Hueneme CPO Wives Club.

 

     She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie Nelson; father, Pete Viotto and mother, Zelma (Payne) Littleton.

 

     Survivors include her children, Shirley Mancuso Holbert of Dickinson, Jack Mancuso, Jr. and wife, Rose of Elberta, Alabama, Pete Mancuso, Debbie (Nelson) Marcantel and husband, Donnie, all of Santa Fe, TX; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

 

     Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home.  Judge Mike Nelson will be officiating.
