Frances Lanell Cox
SANTA FE - Mrs. Frances Lanell Cox passed from this life Thursday afternoon, February 17, 2011, in Houston.
Born September 23, 1947 in Galveston, TX, Mrs. Cox had been a lifetime resident of Santa Fe. She had been employed with Santa Fe ISD working in the administration department for 25 years.
Francis was a beautiful woman, dedicated wife and loving mother who enjoyed her life to the fullest each day. Her true passion was spending the day fishing on the bayou and sharing her “catch of the day” by gathering her friends and family for dinner. Her spirit for life will truly be missed by all of those with whom she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Henry Sr. and Dorothy (Jones) Springer.
Survivors include her loving husband of over 21 years, Dewitt “D.J.” Cox of Santa Fe; sons, Jeff Verm and wife, Lisa of Santa Fe, Rodney Verm and wife, Tara of Dickinson, Jason Cox and wife, Joy of Mesa Arizona; daughter, Stormie Hammond and husband, Brett of Broken Bow Oklahoma; grandchildren, Anthony, Hannah, Kelsey, Lauren, MaKayla, Jane, Jada, Dixie, Avery, Trey, J.C.; brother, Charles H. Springer, Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Clear Lake; niece, Andrea Springer and numerous other extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Reverend Dale Chance officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Santa Fe Fire and Rescue Honor Guards.
