Gloria Joyce (Climer) Wallace-Browning

SANTA FE - Mrs. Gloria Joyce (Climer) Wallace-Browning passed from this life Thursday afternoon, June 23, 2011, at her residence.

     Born September 15, 1934 in Groesbeck, TX, Mrs. Browning had been a lifelong area resident.  She had been employed as a beautician in her own beauty shop called Gloria’s Beauty Salon for 50 years and was a member of Mainland Church of Christ in Texas City.  Gloria enjoyed playing Bingo, cooking, working crossword puzzles and going to church.

     She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Bobby Wallace and James Clark “J. C.” Browning; parents, Louis Rudolph and Minnie Irene (Henley) Climer.

     Survivors include her daughters, Terri Bowden and husband, Lewis of Santa Fe, Kathy Broussard and husband, Rodney of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Shay Bowden, Chaz Bowden, Chris Moyer, Jayson and Leslie Moyer, Beau Broussard, Kaitlin Broussard, Cale Broussard; great-grandchildren, Haley Moyer, Coral and Jaydon Moyer, Joy Gomez; brother, Dale Climer and wife, Gloria of Fulshear, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Minister Mike Reed officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

     Casketbearers will be Chaz Bowden, Beau Broussard, Cale Broussard, Rodney Broussard, Chris Moyer and Jayson Moyer.  Honorary bearer will be Lewis Bowden.
