FRIENDSWOOD – Mrs. Gloria Jeanne Shaw passed from this life Friday evening, January 29, 2009, in Webster.

Born October 28, 1929 in Galveston, Mrs. Shaw had been a longtime resident of Galveston and had worked as a bank teller with First Hutchins Sealy National Bank for over 20 years. She also worked in the mailroom at UTMB for 9 years before moving to League City where she would remain until her recent move to Friendswood. A loving wife and mother, she was completely devoted to her kids and grandkids and enjoyed their times together.

Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Conway Rollin Shaw, II and her brother, William Edward Axelson, Jr., survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Willard and Jennifer Shaw of League City, Roland and Connie Shaw of La Jolla, CA, Conway R. Shaw, III and wife Lucy of Houston, Jerry A. Shaw of Houston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Opal Kimling of Texas City, Wanda and Ken Cotton of Hitchcock, Carol and J.C. Hartley of Canyon Lake, Joyce and Johnny Pearce of Pearland; grandchildren, Conway, IV, Patrick, Jeremy, Zachary, Matthew, Wesley, Hayley and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park. Friends may call from 3 - 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
