Shane Vaughn Reid

 

SANTA FE – Mr. Shane Vaughn Reid passed from this life Thursday evening, September 17, 2009 in Santa Fe.

 

     Born March 24, 1975 in Galveston, Mr. Reid lived most of his life in LaMarque.  A graduate of LaMarque High School, class of 1993, he attended Southwest Texas State University and graduated top of his class at College of the Mainland’s Police Academy.  Shane was owner and IT Specialist of Winning Technologies, of which he was considered a genius by many, and was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders Motorcycle Association, Texas City/La Marque Chamber of Commerce and a former Rotary Club member in Florida. He was a connoisseur of fine foods; good cigars and a good cold beer with “Twang” added in and also enjoyed a strong cup of coffee. Shane was an avid Houston Texans Fan and enjoyed barbequing, fishing and boating especially in the Florida Keys and was a skilled craftsman. Shane will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend.

 

     He was preceded in death by grandparents, Eugenio and Mary Mancillas, H. Samuel Reid and Bobby Blanchard.

 

    Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Reid of Santa Fe; mother Eva M. Blanchard and stepfather, Randy of Texas City; father, Larry S. Reid of LaMarque; sons, Trent and Colin Muckleroy of Santa Fe; brother, Ryan Z. Blanchard of Texas City; grandparents, Ruth Reid of LaMarque, Peggy Blanchard of Gatesville, TX; mother and father-in-law, Jana and Rick Terrell of Texas City; sisters-in-law, Roxy and Tara; special cousin, Gelsey M. Freeman of Birmingham, AL; extended beloved family from Florida and Texas and his loving companions, his dogs, Tika, Diego and Belle.

 

     A Memorial service will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home.  A private cremation was performed under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

 

     Friends may call from 5 - 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX, (409) 925-3501.
