Helen K. Noel

SANTA FE - Mrs. Helen K. Noel completed her earthly journey Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at Regency Village Rehab and Long Term Care Home in Webster, TX.

Helen was born April 4, 1914 in Galveston, TX to Thomas and Viola Moss Kessler.  After attending Ball High School, she married Russell Noel, Jr. in 1933; two sons were born to this union.  The couple moved to Lynchburg, VA in 1937, where Helen trained to be a nurse and served her profession for well over 40 years at the Lynchburg Training School and Hospital.  “Noel”, as she was known to everyone in VA, was a faithful member of the Madison Heights Christian Church.  Retirement did not stop her from serving her adopted family and friends in whatever capacity they needed.  In 2004, Noel moved to Texas to be near her son.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Noel, Jr.; sister, Toni K. Noel; son, Patrick C. Noel and great-granddaughter, Terry Lynnette Derry.

Survived by her brother, T. E. Kessler, Jr. of Pearland; sister, Mike K. Seibel of Miami; son, Russell Noel, III and wife, Sylvia of Santa Fe; nephews, J. W. Seibel of Miami, T. E. Kessler, III of Texas City; granddaughters, Kay Cruitt and husband, Larry, Toni Miller and husband, J. T. all of Santa Fe, Brooke Noel of Lynchburg; seven great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Gibson officiating.  A private cremation will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

     Friends may call from 1 - 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.

Mrs. Noel’s family would like to express their gratitude and a special thank you to Dr. Geetha Subramanyum, the staff of Regency Village Care Home and the HCT Hospice Group for all of their loving care.
