Hortencia “Tencha” Carrillo Garcia
SANTA FE – Mrs. Hortencia “Tencha” Carrillo Garcia passed from this life Monday morning, March 22, 2010, in Webster.
Born June 17, 1943 in Jerez, Mexico, Mrs. Garcia had been a resident of Santa Fe for 18 years, previously of Alvin. She was a dedicated homemaker and member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. “Tencha” loved to cook, take care of her grandchildren and especially loved spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Augustine Valdez Garcia; survivors include her children, San Juan Garcia of Santa Fe, Jennifer Garcia of Santa Fe; parents, Macario and Elisa (Martinez) Carrillo; stepchildren, Terry Ann Garcia of Temple; Bobby Ray Garcia and wife, Sandra of Seguin, Steve Luis of Seguin, Raul Garcia and wife, Barbara of Alvin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfonzo and Esther Carrillo, Francisco and Norma Carrillo, all of San Antonio, Andres and Griselda Carrillo of Mexico, Macario and Mary Carrillo of San Antonio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ema Paleo, Gloria and Genaro Aquino, Arminda and Juan Jose Santos, Leticia Rodriguez, Lorena and Martin Perez, all of San Antonio; 5 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, 110 E. South Street, Alvin. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
